Entre 17 de abril e 18 de julho de 2026, o ambientalista Andreas Noe, conhecido como The Trash Traveler, vai percorrer mais de 1000 km ao longo da costa dos A\u00e7ores, numa iniciativa que pretende dar visibilidade \u00e0s comunidades locais que trabalham diariamente na prote\u00e7\u00e3o do oceano e inspirar a a\u00e7\u00e3o clim\u00e1tica atrav\u00e9s de exemplos concretos.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Lisboa, 1 de abril, 2026 <\/strong>–\u00a0Depois de j\u00e1 ter caminhado 1152 km ao longo da costa de Portugal continental em 2020 e 280 km na Madeira e Porto Santo em 2023, esta nova expedi\u00e7\u00e3o pelas nove ilhas dos A\u00e7ores completa o percurso pelas costas portuguesas, ultrapassando os 2400 km percorridos no total. Mais do que uma caminhada, esta \u00e9 uma jornada de aprendizagem que cruza comunidade, criatividade e ci\u00eancia, mostrando que a a\u00e7\u00e3o pelo oceano pode ser simples, acess\u00edvel e impulsionada pelas pessoas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Uma caminhada que liga pessoas, ci\u00eancia e a\u00e7\u00e3o local<\/strong>
Ao longo do percurso, Andreas Noe vai visitar projetos ambientais, escolas, organiza\u00e7\u00f5es n\u00e3o-governamentais, investigadores e iniciativas comunit\u00e1rias, dando continuidade \u00e0 rede j\u00e1 criada com mais de 80 projetos em Portugal.
Atrav\u00e9s de conte\u00fados partilhados diariamente nas redes sociais, o projeto pretende amplificar o trabalho destas comunidades e inspirar mais pessoas a envolverem-se na prote\u00e7\u00e3o do oceano. O p\u00fablico \u00e9 convidado a participar em v\u00e1rias iniciativas ao longo do percurso, incluindo caminhadas comunit\u00e1rias, limpezas de praia, palestras e atividades educativas locais.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Um percurso constru\u00eddo com a ajuda das comunidades<\/strong>
A expedi\u00e7\u00e3o arranca a 17 de abril na ilha de Santa Maria, com alunos da Escola EB2,3\/S Bento Rodrigues, atrav\u00e9s de uma caminhada simb\u00f3lica e uma a\u00e7\u00e3o de limpeza de praia que marcam o in\u00edcio oficial da iniciativa.<\/span><\/p>\n

Um dos maiores desafios log\u00edsticos do projeto ser\u00e1 a liga\u00e7\u00e3o entre ilhas. Enquanto o grupo central permite desloca\u00e7\u00f5es de ferry, algumas travessias v\u00e3o depender de boleias com pescadores e marinheiros locais. Ao privilegiar alternativas aos voos, o projeto procura tamb\u00e9m reduzir a sua\u00a0pegada carb\u00f3nica. Estas travessias tornam-se assim parte da pr\u00f3pria narrativa da iniciativa, constru\u00edda com base na confian\u00e7a, colabora\u00e7\u00e3o e esp\u00edrito comunit\u00e1rio.<\/span><\/p>\n

O legado: uma plataforma que mapeia quem protege o oceano<\/strong>
Como resultado deste percurso, est\u00e1 a ser desenvolvida a Rede do Mar, um mapa digital e plataforma de aprendizagem que ir\u00e1 ligar iniciativas de prote\u00e7\u00e3o do oceano ao longo da costa portuguesa. A plataforma ser\u00e1 disponibilizada ao p\u00fablico e a escolas, permitindo conhecer projetos no terreno e exemplos concretos de a\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental, aproximando a ci\u00eancia, a educa\u00e7\u00e3o e a participa\u00e7\u00e3o c\u00edvica.<\/span><\/p>\n
